Octopus (オクトパス Okutopasu) is a aquatic enemy that only has a red tentacle visible, its weak against flame property and Sword-type Frames.
In boktai 2 and 3 they are easy eliminated with a weapon with flame property.
Behavior[]
The octopus stays under water until the player approaches. When the player is close, it will attack by throwing him ice rocks and if he it gets too close, it will grab and squeeze him for a while. If the player does not do nothing to free himself, the octopus will submerge with him and then throw it out.
If it receives an attack, it hides.
Varieties[]
- Kraken: (クラーケン) A variety from the first Boktai game. They are just like Octopus, except blue and stronger.
- Root of Darkness: (暗黒の根) A tentacle-like plant from Boktai 2 and 3 with Earth property. They are weaker then the Octopus, but regenerate rapidly and can only be defeated by using Sabata's Gun del Hell and Dark Django's dark enchantment in Boktai 2, and the Cloud Lens in Boktai 3. They where renamed Ivy (アイビー) in Boktai 3.
Etymology[]
The octopus is a intelligent aquatic mollusc of the order Octopoda. Octopuses have two eyes, four pairs of arms and a hard beak, with its mouth at the center point of the arms. Most octopuses have no internal or external skeleton, allowing them to squeeze through tight places.
Kraken is a legendary sea monster of gargantuan size. The sheer size and fearsome appearance attributed to the beasts have made them common ocean-dwelling monsters in various fictional works. The legend may actually have originated from sightings of real giant squid.
In fiction, a large variety of plants are able to move and attack, either controlled by someone or by their own will.
