ShinbokTitle

Boktai 3: Sabata's Counterattack (Japanese title: 新・ボクらの太陽 逆襲のサバタ, Shin Bokura no Taiyō: Gyakushū no Sabata, Shinbok for short) is a Game Boy Advance game released on July 28, 2005 by Konami. Due to the low sales of Boktai 2 in international markets, Boktai 3 was released exclusively in Japan.

Main charactersEdit

DjangoEdit

After being brought to the brink of death at the hands of Sabata, Django finds himself sealed in an underground prison, saved by his Vampire blood. After accidentally being freed from this prison, Django goes on a quest to hunt down the Immortals of the Dark Clan and stop their quest to revive Vanargand.

SabataEdit

Sabata was brainwashed by Ratatosk, who attempts to use his Lunar Blood to revive Vanargand, the Beast of Destruction. In the White Forest, he coaxes Django into a fight, and after losing, begs Django to purify him in order to stop Vanargand's release. Afterwards, Ratatosk shows up and kidnaps the now-purified Sabata, as his purified soul makes it all the more easier to control Vanargand. As Django ventures deep into the moon, where Vanargand is sealed, he eventually encounters and fights Sabata, who has now become one with Vanargand.

TrinityEdit

Trinity actually came from a distant future where Vanargand was unleashed, and the world devastated, and now attempts to aid Django as he attempts to avert the dark future that ensued. He accidentally breaks the seal that trapped Django in his prison, and as such made a different future possible.

RatatoskEdit

The Puppeteer and leader of the Dark Clan of Immortals. Ratatosk plans to unleash Vanargand on the world, using Sabata as the key to unsealing Vanargand, as well as his own means of controlling Vanargand. In the future where Trinity came from, Ratatosk succeeded in unsealing Vanargand and became its ruler as the Lord of Destruction.

GameplayEdit

ShinbokImmortals

Immortals.

Like the two games before it, Shinbok is largely dependent on the Solar Sensor, which serves many purposes from recharging energy to Solar Smithing. However, this time the player has both the Gun del Sol and various swords at his disposal, allowing for both melee and ranged combat. As Django has broken the Sol de Vice, he is no longer capable of using enchantments from the second game.

New to this game is the Trance Gauge, unlocked at a certain point in the plot. As the player attacks enemies, the Trance Gauge slowly fills. Once it is full, Django can either invoke a Dark Trance or Sol Trance , each lasting for a short time but having special attacks to deal immense damage to enemies.

In addition to this, Django now travels from dungeon to dungeon using his Vector Bike. This bike can be modified with different parts and options to improve his performance while moving between them.
